Traditional Thai Massage is an ancient form of bodywork with roots in Indian Ayurvedic Medicine and Buddhism. Offering Thai Massage is a practical application of ”metta“ or loving kindness. Those who cultivate metta wish for true happiness for others and have a desire to ease suffering without personally taking on the their pain.
The practice of Thai Massage blends rhythmic compression along energy lines with yoga-like stretches, traction, point pressure and rocking to promote deep relaxation, health and vitality. Unlike western-style massage, Traditional Thai Massage is practiced on a futon mat on the floor. The receiver wears loose comfortable clothing and usually no oils or lotions are used.
